Stars of the Week

Very well done to our super stars, winners of the Golden Leaf Award this week. All of our Stars, nominated by their teachers, happened to have been recognised for their excellent writing.

Let's all make sure we try our best to write something that the reader or audience will really enjoy and look forward to.

Thankyou to Year 1 Rhinos

Thankyou for sharing your lovely assembly about dinosaurs and telling us about some of the things you have been learning. Your song was very good and we really like your dinosaur collages.

Talented artists in the Infants

We've already been really impressed by the standard of art work in many classes this term. Here are two images from Reception class, by Blessing and Rio, that really wowed myself and Miss Leeming, our Artist in Residence.

In addition to those, Miss Webb was very impressed by the dinosaur collage produced in her Year 1, Rhino Class.

Green cards

Green cards are a new thing at Griffin, awarded to pupils by adults in the school for outstanding achievement. This can be great work, beautiful behaviour, super effort or thoughtful respect for their own and others' rights - anything that is great for the particular child.

Children go with their Green Card - and work, where appropriate - to a senior member of staff who will recognise their great achievement. And of course, their pictures will be taken for family to share in the celebration via the blog!

Amazing art from Year 6

Year 6 were showing their fabulous artistic skills on Thursday afternoon, working with Miss Leeming to produce excellent charcoal images on their termly creative theme, 'Why War?'

The work below was completed by top artists Jaser, Abdirahim, Sahar, Fatimah, Sihan and Mohamed O. Great work, all of you!

Super Lions roar in class assembly

Thankyou to Year 2's Lion class for their lovely assembly this morning. They recounted the story of 'The Three Billy Goats Gruff' with big, roaring voices, as well as singing beautifully.

Well done to you all and to Mr Kader and Mrs Leka. Thankyou to all of the parents who were able to attend; it was lovely to see you all.
