A Year 2 performance to treasure

Year 2 entertained a packed hall of pupils and parents on Tuesday with their end of year performance, 'The Little Pirate's Adventure.'
With loud, clear speaking, great singing and wonderful moves, they rounded off a successful year island hopping and showed that they are more than ready to 'graduate' to the Juniors.
Wonderfully orchestrated by Miss Bennett, Mr Kader and the other adults, all involved desrve a big 'thankyou' and huge congratulations.
Great stuff, mateys!

Lions entertain with a roaring good assembly

Well done to Mr Kader's Year 2 Lion class who entertained their audience with wonderful singing and storytelling. They really turned a grey world into a happy one - thank you all!

After the assembly, Mr Kader - our Literacy Leader - presented Golden Tickets to the pupils wearing the best character costumes yesterday. See their picture below.
The ticket entitles the winners to a free book from the Book Fair.

Year 2 visit Tesco on food exploration

Year 2 visited the Brixton store of Tesco last week to support their work on the topic 'Where our things come from.' Mr Kader's Lions made the journey on Thursday, to be followed by the Pumas of Ms Bennet on Friday.
They investigated labels to see where food had travelled from and did other work on food colours. This followed up their work on the cacao bean and the 'Journey of Chocolate.'

Pumas share their healthy assembly

Thankyou to Year 2 Puma Class for their lovely assembly today. They told us all about their learning related to healthy eating of vegetables and fruit through song and story. They spoke and performed very clearly to an appreciative audience, including parents.
The assembly also reminded us how the children at Griffin have been growing our own food at school and using it to make meals, including soup and apple crumble!
Well done to you all - and also to Miss Bennett and Mrs Reilly.

Talented artists in the Infants

We've already been really impressed by the standard of art work in many classes this term. Here are two images from Reception class, by Blessing and Rio, that really wowed myself and Miss Leeming, our Artist in Residence.

In addition to those, Miss Webb was very impressed by the dinosaur collage produced in her Year 1, Rhino Class.
More dinosaurs from Year 1
And lovely, colourful pastel work from Year 2
