Nurture group Bake-Off

What a wonderful idea and what wonderfully tasty results!

The children of Nurture Group were challenged this week to put their skills together in a special event. They were faced with randomly selecting and following instructions for making a range of delicious foods. Each pair had a recipe to follow and equipment to choose from: then they were judged as to their communication and team work skills, and health & safety awareness, as well as the presentation and taste of their cooking.

All of the pairs worked excellently to produce great results. They were, truly, all winners although those with slightly higher marks from the judges were awarded with some baking prizes.

Very well done, of course, to all of our brilliant children!

Finding out about Benin

Thankyou to Panda class and Mrs Nimmons for their entertaining assembly on the ancient African civilisation of Benin on Thursday. A mixture of acting and drumming was a great introduction to a topic that was unfamiliar to most of the audience.
Well done to you all for your enthusiastic and expert delivery.

Non-uniform day on Friday

Parents will receive a letter shortly informing them of a 'sponsored' non-uniform day on Friday. The cost will be £1 or more for pupils to wear their own clothes and support two good causes in doing so.

We will be raising money for a special excursion for our most brilliantly behaved Year 6 pupils whilst also supporting the work of FBB with some of our pupils.

Speed limit consultation

Consultation for 20mph speed limit for the Borough of Wandsworth

Wandsworth Council is consulting on whether to introduce a 20mph limit across the borough.   This consultation is whether to introduce a 20mph limit across the borough on those residential roads that are currently 30mph, but excludes main traffic routes.

This proposal is about introducing a 'speed limit area' using 20mph signage and road markings such as 'ghost cushions' without introducing physical features such as road humps. The Metropolitan Police would assist with driver education and enforcement in future if required. Additionally the speed limit area would be monitored and reviewed to check how it is working.

Jaguar class assembly

Thankyou to the Jaguar class of Year 4 for presenting their informative assembly today. As well as sharing some of their Literacy work & Maths learning, the main focus was song and facts regarding our use (and waste) of water.
