Inter-House Sport

Sainsburys School Games Mark

The school is working towards the Sainsburys Schools Games Mark - Silver Award for the 2015-2016 academic year.  Part of the criteria requires children in KS2 to take part in intra class sports competition.  With that in mind, KS2 pupils will take part in a inter House sports competition throughout the academic year, culminating in an end of a year Games Day.

Christmas and Winter art competition

Very well done to our artistic winners! They all took the time to create something special and were rewarded for their efforts with some chocolate.

Well done to all others who took part and earned some 'money' from my Junk Food Skip.

Infant Nativity

Very well done to everyone yesterday - an excellent performance!

Here are some comments from Year 5:

Sarafina
"I really like their assembly because they were loud and clear. Even though I was at the back of the room I  could still hear their singing. I really like the acting because it was clear about what they were doing. I really love the bow ties because it made them look very sweet and cute.Well done, you did really well."

Tayja
"Firstly, I want to give a huge well done to the children and teachers who participated in the nativity play on Monday. They were extremely brave and they had clear voices. The nativity was fun and exciting. They are so young and they drawed me into their brilliant performance. I love the way they told the story of Jesus being born. As a Year 5 pupil, it helps me believe that I can achieve something as brilliant as this. It was something that nobody can forget because it was smart, creative, exciting and, of course, incredible. Jesus would be very proud of everyone."

Caring at Christmas

The children from Nurture Group represented the school at Carey Gardens Community Centre on Wednesday, providing Christmas High Tea for the elderly.

As a group, prior to the visit, they cooked a selection of finger foods fit for the Queen: scones, salmon mini quiche, mince pies and sandwiches.

Some comments from the children who went:

Francisco - "I enjoyed playing dominoes with Victoria, who showed us how to play. It was fun."

Demoy - "I enjoyed making the pastry."

Jahnade - "I enjoyed making the egg sandwiches."

Shantai - "I enjoyed talking to them."

Jabril - "I liked mixing and making the pastry for the mince pies - they were yummy!"

Ms Hillary and Ms Angie were extremely proud of the group's manners and their ability to interact with the residents. They were fantastic ambassadors representing the school.

Mrs Dias inspires Super Bear performance

Year 5's Polar Bear class delivered an excellent, comprehensive assembly performance on Thursday, thanks to the preparation and inspiration of Miss Dias. After only a short time with the class, she guided the talented group to a musical extravaganza which showed off the class's knowledge and learning with grammar, Maths and Science.
Great work, everyone, very entertaining!
