House names: know your city
How well do you know your city?
The most votes in last week's survey for House names were for places in London. We'll stick with these for at least the term, perhaps the whole year.
After a draw in this morning's assembly, the House colours are now linked to these names, stations in four areas of the city:
EUSTON WATERLOO VICTORIA PADDINGTON
Use the maps to see where your House is based and become familiar with your city. The first House quiz will be based on the less detailed map above. Questions might include:
Which is the red tube line?
Which station is further East: Liverpool Street or Paddington?
Name a station South of the river.
The map below is for those who want to see more detail, including Battersea.

Name that 'House'
You may be aware that the children have been allocated a House team to belong to and they may, already, be collecting House Points. The Houses are being used partly to motivate pupils to work hard and behave well, earning points that will reward the winning Houses with 'prizes'. They will also be the basis of Inter-House events and competitions, including art, music, sport, spelling, writing and Maths.
At the moment, the Houses are known by four colours - blue, red, yellow and green - and, whilst these colours will remain, we are also going to name the teams.
This is where you come in! By completing the short survey below - online answers are automatically collected - you will help us to select the House names.
You can choose from the categories and names below - or suggest your own. Please do join in!
London landmarks/stations: Westminster, Victoria, Euston, Paddington
Local roads: Stewart, Thessaly, Condell, Deeley
Famous British people: Churchill, Victoria, Shakespeare, Darwin
World (civil rights/peace leaders): Gandhi, King, Parkes
Remember, you can choose better names or new categories in the survey. Click 'submit' when you have finished.
